Top 5 'Other' Playoff Games in 4A

1.  Bay City vs. La Marque - Yes, it's a long way away, but if you can make the drive down to the Houston area to see this one you won't be disappointed.  Bay City made the D1 final last year and La Marque was the D2 champion.  BC beat La Marque in the first game of the season so the Cougars will be looking for revenge.  Truly a matchup of top contenders in this first round game.

2.  Highland Park vs. Texas High - The Scots and Tigers will play Friday night at Rose Stadium in Tyler in another first round game featuring state top ten teams.  Texas High struggled early in the year and picked up two losses but they've come on strong in recent weeks and haven't lost since their fourth game of the year.  HP lost their opener against Denton Ryan but have since won 9 straight and have been especially impressive since beating Wylie three weeks ago.

3.  Ennis vs. Kimball - The Lions will take on the Kimball Knights Friday night at Sprague Field in Dallas.  Kimball had a tough time early in the year but turned it around after their embarassing loss to Waco University and have one of the top defenses in the area featuring possibly the top defensive line in the state led by all-world DT Demarcus Granger.  The Lions will be looking to get back on track after last week's loss.

4.  Denison vs. Aledo - The Yellowjackets and superstar Corey Robertson's reward for winning district is the Bearcats who finished second in their district to undefeated Stephenville.  Aledo has had some great playoff runs the past few years but this year's first hurdle is daunting indeed as Robertson has proven that he is one of the top all-around players in the state after coming back from a knee injury sustained in their early season loss to Kimball.  The game will be at 8pm on Friday at Pirate Stadium in Wylie.

5.  Waxahachie vs. Killeen - The Indians and Kangaroos will meet at 7:30 Saturday night at Waco ISD Stadium.  Waxahachie has reeled off 8 straight wins after they dropped their first two contests - a winning streak that was kicked off by their one point win over the Tigers.  Killeen went undefeated in district play and is looking to make a run in Region 2.  If Waxahachie and Ennis can both win it would set up a classic rivalry game for round 2 of the playoffs.
